Pattern is a repeated design, pattern can imply a texture, but texture itself has the sense of touch that pattern doesn't have.

Tactile Texture- Tactile texture uses material to create a pattern or surface that can be touched.
Above is a great example of how to create texture that can be touched, not just implied.

Implied Texture- You aren't able to actually feel the texture, but you can see it.
In my example, the pattern implies a scaly texture, but unlike the bird you can't actually feel the texture.
